I had two great learning experiences this week – a visit by Professor Richard Elmore (will post something on this next week) and participating in a DEECD’s Guide to Innovation webinar series.
This webinar series is a great example of how innovative educators are creating powerful networks to build deep professional knowledge and understanding.
I enjoy the opportunities to engage with colleagues who are stretching their thinking but the highlight was having Celine, a Year 7 student watching the presentation and participating in the discussion.
Celine reflected on a recent learning experience in which she got to choose what she wanted to learn. This was student voice and feedback in real-time and it is was powerful.
My thanks to Helen Otway for inviting me to participate. It reconfirms that our greatest ‘guides to innovation’ are our teachers.
