I recently chatted with Jenny Lewis, CEO of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL). We’ve been planning some work on leadership development and how we can work more collaboratively to leverage the resources on some very specific development opportunities for school leaders.
One of the key challenges for leaders in schooling today is the need for an updated “toolkit” or “skillset” and a sharper focus on the core work of leaders in schools. Leaders have overall responsibility for improving student outcomes. Any professsional development should focus on equipping leaders for learning. This is not just a semantic distinction – it directly challenges our current leadership frameworks.
Listen to Jenny’s reflections on how to attract good educational leaders.
